Sorbus acuparia

Rowan

The bird crane is a deciduous shrub or tree growing up to 15 metres tall. It grows rapidly and does not live to a great age. The wood is hard, flexible and tough and is used in joinery. The leaves are alternate, oddly pinnate, similar to those of the ash tree; in the cranesbill, the individual leaf lobes are only slightly smaller and slightly closer together on the visually somewhat longer stem.
