Pedunculate oak

It is a massive deciduous tree of the beech family. It occurs naturally in Europe and Asia Minor, the Caucasus and some localities in North Africa. The crown is massive, irregular and massively spreading, elongated upwards. The bark is dark grey, coarsely fissured. Leaves obovate, irregularly pinnately lobed, cordate at the base.
